KING DIAMOND LIVE REVIEW

KING DIAMOND LIVE

Tampa, Florida @ Twilight Monday 17 / 11 / 2003

by Andres Castro

November 17th was the night for the show and the venue was Twilight in Tampa. I got a little confused because HAVOCHATE was supposed to be opening the show and to my surprise it was SINGLE BULLET THEORY, and what can I say? This band from Philadelphia put on a great show supported by excellent music, very good performance and lots of beer. A very good guitar and vocals work, they kind of reminded me of Nevermore, but add some The Haunted and Metal Church to it and you'll get a closer idea of what I'm talking about, I recommend you to visit their website and get more acquainted with them.

Next was this kind of Lacrimosa meets Marylin Manson band from Texas called Nocturne which I personally hated so we can skip it.

Then Entombed got on stage and did what they've been doing for years: rocked the stage, I don't know what to say, just Entombed at its best and I personally enojoyed "Wolverine Blues" and "Left Hand Path" a lot, only thing I regret was not having the chance to interview them but some day...

It was almost midnight, and after three bands and like 8 Heinikens it was time for the King to get on stage to present his most recent production "The Puppet Master" along with all time favorite songs like "No Presents For Christmas", "Abigail", "Halloween", "Burn" and more for a show that lasted about two hours. The sound was impeccable as well as the performance given by the band suppported by all the theatrical parafernalia that has been a trademark for the King, an audiovisual delight for all metal fans that gathered that night: coffins, blood, beer and good music, what else can you ask for? At the end of the show the King himself announced that thay have been recording the show for a future live CD so obviously I'm waiting for it to come out.
