The Nummirock festival is one of Finland’s well-established festivals celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. It takes place in the small town of Nummijärvä which is in the North of Finland, near Seinäjöki. The festival area is situated at a lake and a guarded camping site is provided as well as many foot stands and lockers to store your belongings. The specialty about Nummirock is that it takes place at midsummer (23rd - 24th June) which in is the time of the year when the days are the longest. In Northern Areas, you will find almost no darkness during the night so best conditions for a never ending party.

This year’s billing offers a nice mix of international and Finnish bands. The headliner is going to be the American band Deicide, Germany’s Edguy and Kreator, Sweden will be represented by Hypocrisy, The Duskfall and Marduk and Switzerland’s exceptional band Samael will rock the crowd. The Finnish bands will give the fans a nice overview over the current scene with Amorphis, one of the best-known Finnish acts, Tarot, Diablo, Charon, Korpiklaani and the newcomers Stamina. The billing is rounded off by a number of rather small Finnish bands that are nevertheless worth checking out.

Two days tickets cost 60 euro (67 euro if purchased at the gate). One day tickets will only be available at the gate on the specific day and will cost 45 euro. Camping is included in the two days ticket and parking doesn’t seem to be charged (at least there’s no further information concerning this matter on the website).

Busses will be going to the festival from Seinäjöki so it should be no problem to get there if you’re going by car.
