21 EYES OF RUBY (21EoR) are restless, creative, determined and have a mind of their own. Antoine ‘TuWann’ Pütz (vocals/guitars), Martijn Soeterbroek (drums) and Alex van Damme (bass) play alternative and complex rocksongs in the mindset of The Mars Volta, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins and Motorpsycho.
On March 3 2008, 21EoR release their newest single ‘9Friends’, along with their first music video. This single is completely self-produced and released on their own label Summer Kimono Records. ‘9Friends’ is the first single of the forthcoming full-length album ‘Conquer The World pt.4’. This album will be released in autumn 2008.
With their debut-album ‘Conquer The World pt. 2 & 3’, a double cd containing part 2 and 3 of a series of 21, 21EoR definitely make a musical statement. Dutch ezine 3voor12 nominates 21EoR as ‘Hollandse Nieuwe’ and puts ‘CtW pt. 2&3’ in ‘De Luisterpaal’. Dutch magazine Aardschok writes: “Ambitious debut, which ventilates the surplus of the musicians’ talents nicely, (…)This album should serve as an example for a lot of bands.”
21EoR are a ‘must-see’-live band. With passionate shows that are never the same, the trio has gathered a committed fanbase. Ezine musicfrom.nl writes about their gig at Bospop: “21EoR rise high above the other bands, with regards to dedication, energy and quality.” Magazine OOR witnesses a “hyperventilating energetic show”.
21EoR played shows at a.o. Bospop (Weert, NL), Mama’s Pride (Geleen, NL) en PLAY-festival (Hasselt, BE). In 2007, the band won the bandcontest ‘Weerter Amateur Festival (W.A.F.)’ and was finalist in ‘Nu of Nooit’, the biggest bandcontest of the Dutch province Limburg. In 2008 21EoR wins “The Battle for Limburg” and will therefore play mainstage at “Bevrijdingsfestival Limburg” (Roermond, NL) on May 5 2008.
As previous years we once more will give unknown talented Dutch bands a chance at ProgPower. So we are very pleased with 21EoR, a band that hopefully will surprise you all with their music. We really look forward to see them on stage, we hope you all will be there on Saturday 4 October as they open the festival on that day.
