Abominator was formed in December 1994, with Chris Volcano on drums and Andrew Undertaker on Guitar. Chris was already in the working on the project when Andrew arrived and had completed 2 tracks. Even at this early stage Abominators music, although very primitive compared to later effort's, was already standing out as a dark force in the underground. The constant blasts combined with an unrelenting rhythm proved to be the perfect combination of Darkness and Carnage and thus, Abominator had created their style.

Rehearsing in the garage, through the summer and autumn of 94/95, Chris and Andrew finished writing the first six songs for the Demo, 'Barbarian War Worship'. The titles included, 'Hordes Of Impurity', 'The Darkest Sabbat', 'Black Nuclear Mists', and three which were to be re-recorded at a later stage for the first album, 'Sepulchral Vomit', 'Filthy Spirit Antichrist', and the title track, 'Barbarian War Worship'. With Chris Volcano on drums and Vocals and Andrew on Guitars and bass, the Track's were put down over a weekend at Big Beat Studio's in Melbourne, May 1995 and captured perfectly, the sound Abominator wanted to unleash. This recording was to appear at a later stage on a split CD with Swedish band, 'Mornaland', through path to enlightenment.

At this time Abominator decided that it was time to do some gig's, consequently Deathsaw Dave and Gary Gestapo arrived on the scene and some show's were played around Melbourne with band's such as, Bestial Warlust(R.I.P), Destroyer 666, Inverted Prophet (R.I.P), with Dave and Andrew sharing the Vocal duties. Dave and Andrew continued on with Vokills until Damon Bloodstorm parted way's with Bestial Warlust and took up the Vokills for Abominator, eventually moving on to Bass/Vokills for live show's.

New material was also being written and in 1997, after Gary was to leave, Abominator re-entered Big Beat studio to record the second demo,'The Conqueror possessed'. The line up on the Demo was Andrew Undertaker on Guitar/Bass, Death Saw Dave on Guitar/Bass, Chris Volcano on Drums/Vocals and Damon Bloodstorm on Vokills.

This recording contained four tracks', all of which were re-recorded for the debut CD. The song titles were, 'Damnation's Prophecy', The Conqueror Possessed', 'Lucerferian Path To Destruction', and 'Dabauchery'. Dave was to leave the band soon after this recording and Abominator continued on as a carnage three piece.

Contracts were sent to the band after the second Demo and after careful consideration it was decided to sign with American Label, Necropolis Records.

Abominator recorded their debut album at St Andrews Studio in October 1998. The recording contained songs off the first two Demos plus some new track's. The album line up was Andrew on Guitars and Bass, Chris Volcano on Drums, Damon Bloodstorm and Volcano sharing Vokill duties.

More shows were embarked upon as a three piece until the Bloodstorm was to give away the Bass. Soon after this, things were put on hold for a while to put together a new album. With a new album of material ready Steve Undernism was bought in on Bass and Abominator embarked on some more shows. Steve's reign of terror with the band was short lived and left the band just day's before the recording of the second album, 'Subversives for Lucifer'.

Abominator re-entered St Andrew's Studios to record 'Subversives for Lucifer'. The first track's were layed down in October 2000 and the recording continued on and off until February 2001. The line up on the album was Andrew Undertaker on Guitars and Bass, Chris Volcano on the Drum's and Damon Blood Storm returning for a farewell performance, to share the Vokill duties with Volcano. Right in the middle of this recording Necropolis decided that they would no longer support the band and so with a new album finished, Abominator was now looking for a label. After an extensive mail-out the band received some interest from labels and in April 2001 Abominator signed a three album deal with Osmose Productions.

In early May 2005 a new contract was announced with the Dutch label Displeased Records.
