Agretator was originally formed as a death metal band in 1990 under the name Demise after drummer Peter Wildoer answered an ad from Pierre Richter and Jesper Granath. After a demo tape the band changed to a much more technical style. A second demo led to a deal with Crypta Records but as there was already another American band named Demise they changed into Agretator. After the release of their debut album they split with their label who more or less ripped the band off. They recorded a mini cd on their own to attract interest from labels but nothing happened and they finally broke up in 1998.
