Alice Cooper was born as Vincent Furnier in Detroit, Michigan, on February 4th, 1948. His parents later on relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where he formed his first band The Earwigs in Spring 1964 together with John Speer, Dennis Dunaway, Glen Buxton and Emmet Smith. Later on they teamed up with John Tatum and changed their name to The Spiders in June 1965. In 1967 the band temporarily moved to Los Angeles, California, and changed their name once more to The Nazz which was taken from a song from The Yardbirds called "The Nazz Are Blue". As that name was already taken another name change took place in March 1968 just prior to a show in Santa Barbara, California. They now became Alice Cooper which was also the stage name now adopted by Vincent Furnier. In December 1974 Alice announced that he was going to do a solo album and the band folded. Since then many different musicians have been part of his band.
