Band biography
Annihilator photo
Annihilator was first formed in 1984 when Jeff Waters and John Bates recorded a song called "Annihilator". Over the next couple of years they recruited additional members and wrote many songs that later appeared on their first two albums. In late 1985 the drummer Malek was fired from the band and soon after they had replaced him with Richard "Death" the band split up. In 1986 Waters recorded a demo called "Phantasmagoria" all by himself in the ' basement of his parents. In 1987 he recorded another demo before he moved to Vancouver where he found new musicians to start up the band again.

After the release of "Alice In Hell" Annihilator supported Onslaught on their European tour and Testament on their US tour. Just before Christmas 1989 they recorded four demo songs to appear later on "Bay Of Tricks". In 1989 Jeff Waters was actually asked by Dave Mustaine to audition for Megadeth but he turned down the offer. In 1994 they recorded a demo called "King Of The Hill" which led to a deal with Music For Nations.
