Band biography

The power metal band Artch was formed in Sarpsborg, Norway, in January 1983 by 16 and 17 year old kids. Newly found vocalist Espen Hoff sadly passed away in a motorcycle accident in October 1985 on his way to a rehearsal. He was to be replaced by Icelandic singer Eirikur Hauksson (aka Eric Hawk) for the Metal Blade debut "Another Return" in 1988 (he had moved to Norway in 1986 to join the band). A sophomore effort "For the Sake of Mankind" was to follow in 1991 before the band split up.

Artch reunited once again in the year 2000 and has since done sporadic shows.
