Band biography

Asphyx was one of the first death metal bands in Holland and formed in 1987 by three young men who were inspired by bands like Venom, Possessed, Hellhammer, Messiah and Death. The band released a number of albums before splitting up in 1996. A couple of the band members did however continue under the name Soulburn and released one album. The band then got back together as Asphyx to record "On The Wings Of Inferno" in 2000. The band probably broke up soon after the release.
