Band biography

Assassin was one of the first big German thrash metal bands and was formed in Düsseldorf in 1985. They recorded two demos and then signed a deal with the German label Steamhammer Records in 1986. The band released their second and last album "Interstellar Experience" in 1988 and split up the following year after almost all of the band's equipment had been stolen. Robert Gonella apparently moved to China and at least one of the other members lived in Brazil for some time. Several attempts of reviving the band were made throughout the year but in 2002 Assassin was back for real. In 2003 they played at the world famous Wacken Open Air festival.
