Bang Tango photo
The American hard rock act Bang Tango was formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1987. Mark Knight and Kyle Kyle was playing together in another band and had just parted ways with their singer. Amir Derek from Orgy presented them to Joe Lesté who had just tried out for his band. Joe brought a long-time friend called Tigg Ketler with him and Mark recruited his old friend Kyle Stevens. Joe relocated from his hometown San Diego to Los Angeles and Bang Tango was born. Within a year of their formation they were picked up by Steve Sinclair's Mechanic Records. Despite the decline of the hair metal era they clinged on to the past and released a couple of albums which were relatively well received. Eventually though, time took its toll even on them and in 1994 the band split up with bassit Kyle teaming up with former Faster Pussycat frontman Taime Downe in an industrial project called The Newlydeads and Leste temporarily filling in for L.A. Guns. In 1997 the pair joined forces once again and resurrected Bang Tango but no stable line-up materialized. In January 2006 the band signed a deal with Perris Records for the release of a new studio album. The current line-up is presently unknown.
