Band biography
Barren Earth photo
The Helsinki, Finland, based band Barren Earth was assembled in the fall of 2007 by several experienced metal musicians. Their music was said to combine death metal with 70s progressive rock and folk music, citing influences such as Opeth, Paradise Lost, Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull.

In the summer of 2008 Barren Earth entered Jive Studios in Helsinki to record their first few songs.
