Black 'N' Blue was formed in 1981 in Portland, Oregon, but in 1982 they relocated to Los Angeles and released their self-titled debut album on David Geffen's label in 1984. They released three more albums before finally breaking up in 1989. In the early days of their career they were more of a heavy metal band but then they started developing towards commercial hard rock. The band was originally known as Movie Star and at that time Todd Jensen was a member.
