The British heavy metal band Buffalo was formed in Accrington in 1977 by guitarist Mick Priestley who had just left another local band called Tanglefoot. They split up in 1984 as Priestley took a break to get married and raise his daughter. In 1992 he resurrected Buffalo with a brand new line-up.
