Caelum Adustum is one man only, and will always be one man.
Caelum Adustum formed under than name "Mordant" in late 2002 with the
purpose to create melodic atmospheric metal. He recorded a one track
"demo" that same year, but it was never released. In 2003 he decided to
change the name to Caelum Adustum (or 'Astral Infernal'), to fit the
lyrical style more, and also be more suitable towards the style of music
he plays. Other than writing lyrics, 2003 was basically a dead year.
In early April of 2004 he finally decided to make an actual demo. It
contains 1 intro, then 3 metal songs in a stlye similar to Burzum,
Darkthrone and latter day Thorns and then an outro. This first demo is
relatively generic, with the exception of the drumming and the vocals. Due
to a lack of funding there was only 23 copies of this demo made (only
available from Daniel himself, with the exception of 12 copies being
distributed by the HellsHeadbanger cult).
As of right now Daniel is working on writing his second demo which will
contain two 13-15 minute tracks. Recording will start in early June,
and will be released soon after. The new art will be in the style of
mid era Burzum, Nargaroth, Wigrid, and Sargeist.
Synths and acoustic guitars are used sparingly, usually only in
intro / outro / interlude settings.
