Band biography

Carbonized was a Swedish death metal band that was formed in 1988 by Lars Rosenberg, Matti Kärki, Jonas Derouche and Per Ax. After a week or two Henrik "Hempa" Brynolfsson also joined the band. Hempa and Per left the band after just four or five rehearsals and formed Excruciate instead. They recorded a 7" EP at Sunlight Studios which was released in 1990. Eventually they became more technical and progressive with the loss of all original members except for Rosenberg.
