They decided to form a deathmetal band after the split-up with theirs other band Mork ( Mörk ) that played blackmetal at that time. But the lack of members has always been the 'bad luck' for the band. So finding people to the band was not easy. Anyway they asked if gutarist Johan Dyyk wanted to try ( from the band Mork ) and he thought: 'why not?' So Johan joins the band, on guitar and Daniel switch from guitar to play the drums. ( He wanted to play the guitar ) But after a while Johan felt that this was not his style so he leaves the band. Short after that, Daniel found a drummer, but he was not good as they though, so he was kicked out. Later Ulf also leaves the band. To form a band together with Johan.
It was very close that Carrion Carnage declared itself finished. In recent motnhs, however, things have threatened to turn around. Daniel decided to continue as a one-man demo project, and started to write new songs for a demo. And after 3 months, he have material for a full-length. The only problem was 'I need somone who can help me in the studio' So he contacted a very close friend 'Johan Hertil' ( from Total Incineration, there Daniel also plays the drums ) and asked him if he could help him out with the album. And he says 'YES' They started now to rehearse, in the meantime, Daniel also asked 'Total Incineration's' vocalist if wanted to sing a couple of songs on the album. And he thought it could be fun so he says 'Yes' And all of a sudden, Daniel was contacted by Christofer Stäke. He told Daniel, that he wanted to sing in the band, so Daniel thought, 'why not?' So one one-man demo project, turned into two man project. CC started to prepare for WAR... But...
Being a very self-critical band, Carrion Carnage had some troubles getting the new material together for the album. It wasn't that they didn't come up with material. No, it was more that it didn't satisfy the members to 100%. The main trouble was Stäke, he was not that kind of singer that Daniel wanted, but he let it go... for a while... Under the meantime, Stäke found a guitarist 'Stefan Jörbo' and he was only supposed to help the band with the album. But he actually become a permanent member. And one day, Daniel and Stefan got offred to do a music video, they simply could not resist. It was Stäke that had some kind of project. The only problem was, Carrion Carnage had no material out to do a video for. So, they contacted Studio 'La Bomba' to record one song for the video. And the song was 'EVIL'.
Now they enter the studio, and recorded the song, everything went good. Except for the vocals. After a several miserable attemts to record the vocals, Daniel decided to do the vocals, and it went very vell! Now they have the song, and started to film, but with poor equipment, and alot of bullshit, The music video ended up crap! Stäke was fired from the band, and both Daniel and Stefan felt very angry over the situation. They decided to wrote new material and to do full-length. Also, they decided that Daniel should do the vocals permanent, because of all the great response the recived. And most of the bands seemed to slow down their metal sound and music and become more "easy listened", Carrion Carnage did the opposite...they speeded up, became rawer sounding and so forth.
In the spring 2003, Daniel was contacted by guitarist Janne Hyytiä. And he was added to the band. ( Note - Janne did not play on the 'Mass Murder Rampage' album ) In the meantime, Daniel learned to play drums, and sing in same time. The only problem was a bassplayer. But the 'good luck' continues and they was contacted by 'Pelle Djahedi' but, it was only 2 weeks left when they was supposed to enter the studio, so they decided not to bring him in at that time. After the recording session he was added to the band. ( Note - The album was recorded with this line-up: Daniel: All vocals, drums, guitars, and bass. Stefan: Guitars ). You may ask yourself, Why has it been so hard to find a stabile line-up? Well, simply because there aren't too much of extremely good Black/Death Metal musicians around! As, well some of the people involved have not been ready to really go for it, and put down alot of effort and soul in the band. Anyway, those people are now 'eliminated' from Carrion Carnage.
Now it was the time for the 1st full length album release. Carrion Carnage was ready for war. And all the great and positive response from the fans and magazines proved that Carrion Carnage was not "just another band".
Carrion Carnage felt reborn and has now started to complete material for the 2nd full-length album. Feeling fresh air into the band, having a slighty stable line-up and the new material will for sure make you bleed ´til death! The warriors have returned to conquer!!!.
But one thing remained, a drummer. After 4 months of searching for a drummer, they finally find one! His name is Jakob, and joins the band the end of 2003. And after three years of 'bad luck, the band are today complete!!!
Carrion Carnage has always stayed true to their style and will do as long as the band will exist. Their music will surely bring chills down your spine. Put their albums on and find yourselves getting possessed with them!!!. No fucking delays, no fucking lies…. just pure fucking underground!!
