Cauldron was a Bradenton, Florida based power metal band which formed in 1988 or 1989. They recorded a demo and played live shows around Tampa, Florida, almost every weekend with many different bands (among them Pessimist and Atheist) before disbanding in 1995 (vocalist Matt Barlow had joined the successful Iced Earth in 1992). Their song "Entry Number 161914 Pain" was recorded by Iced Earth on their album "Burnt Offerings" under the new title "Last December". Guitarist Kelly McLauchlin formed the death metal act Pessimist.
