The Mexican death metal band Cenotaph was formed in 1989. They quickly recorded a demo which was released in the same year. A 7" EP was released in 1990 through Brazil's Distorted Harmony Records. Next was a compilation appearance on "Appointment With Fear", released on Cyber Records who also released their debut album in 1995. They then signed with the Mexican label Horus Records. Following the release of "Epic Rites" in 1996 the band moved to the USA and played several shows. After the Milwaukee Metal Fest in 1998 the band broke up but reformed in 2000 with a new line-up. The band finally called it quits in September 2002 as the only original member, drummer Oscar Clorio, felt that the band was no longer any fun to be in.
