Crimson Glory was originally formed in 1982 in Sarasota, Florida, under the name Beowulf. In 1986 they released their self-titled debut album and grew to become one of the leading and most influential progressive metal bands ever. They have toured throughout the world together with bands like Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Queensrÿche, UDO, Doro and Anthrax. Their album "Strange And Beautiful" from 1991 didn't do as well as the previous ones due to its more commercial sound which led to the band breaking up soon after a short tour. In late 1996 the band reformed and they released "Astronomica" in 1999. Since then the band members have been involved with several other bands and projects and the current status of the band is unknown.
