D.I. were one of the leading American punk bands bands in the 80's together with names such as the Adolescents, Bad Religion Black Flag and Social Distortion, which closely linked to the band. D.I. formed in 1982 by Rikk Agnew and Casey Royer during the hiatus of their previous band Adolescents and released a number of albums before a decade-long career for the band came to an end in 1995. Although, they never made a commercial breakthrough throughout their career, but they have had a major influence on the punk scene in general. Some say that their second album, Horse Bites, Dog Cries, is regarded as their best effort. However, D.I. reunited for good in 2002 and have continued playing on this day. Since they have reunited, the band has discussed the possibility of recording a new record, which would be their first studio album in over a decade.
