Band biography

When a Swedish band called Agretator broke up in 1998, drummer Peter Wildoer and guitarist Christofer Malmström decided to form a new band together with guitarist Klas Ideberg and bass player Jörgen Löfberg. The new band was called Darkane. Since Peter Wildoer played drums on albums from Armageddon and Arch Enemy the Swedish label WAR Music decided to check out the band. They then asked Darkane to record two songs for a label compilation disc. They recorded "Convicted" and "July 1999" at WAR Studios with Speed as session vocalist.

In August and September 1998 the band entered Studio Dug-Out together with producer Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad, Stuck Mojo...) to record their debut album called "Rusted Angel". The vocals on this was done by Lawrence Mackrory from a local band called Forcefeed. Their first album was released on April 19th, 1999. Later on they were signed by the major German metal label Nuclear Blast who will release their second album "Insanity" on April 30th, 2001.
