WELCOME TO THE UNDERWORLD, TO THE REALM OF DEVLIN…
The conception of DEVLIN dates back to 1994, when Marcus Ehlin of SIEBENBÜRGEN began work on an obscure side project. Devlin has taken many forms, as well as indulged in many names, since its humble beginnings, but it was not until the end of 2001 that Marcus decided to pursue more serious goals with the material collected during these years. In February 2002, Marcus recorded a three-track demo, including the songs Underworld, Fade and Dying Dream, which he immediately sent on to NAPALM RECS for feedback. It didn’t take long before the label offered him a deal and Marcus began recording DEVLIN's debut Grand Death Opening. But DEVLIN's coup de grâce escaped Marcus: finding a female vocalist to fit the DEVLIN concept. Just before entering the studio, Marcus had parted ways with his previous vocalist. Fortunately, he found a more than worthy replacement in Lexi, a 24 year old singing sensation who learned the tracks in record time and proved her professionalism in the studio two weeks later. ...
