Diabolic was formed in January 1997 with the intent of becoming Death metal elite. Working at blasphemous speeds, the first live show was in February '97 in Tampa with Vader, Broken Hope and Monstrosity. The response was incredible and Diabolic earned the respect that so few receive in the Death metal capitol. In June '97 the "City of The Dead" demo was unleashed upon the worldwide underground! Over 2 000 copies were sold in 32 countries to satisfy the demand of the death starved masses! The underground raved over the unrelenting music of Diabolic's hyperblasting assault! Stellar reviews and quotes like "already a classic" and "the best death metal demo ever" begin to describe the overwhelming appreciation from the underground! Since then, the "City of The Dead" has been re-released in mid format, and contains two never released tracks recorded back in the demo days.
Diabolic's live performance punished many stages throughout the USA, including festivals such as Milwaukee Metalfest '98, New York's Demonfest in '98, November to Dismember in Textas '99, New England Death and Hardcore Fest '99 and '00, and the Deathtober in New York 2000. A tour with Infamy in February '98 blasted the west coast, and a headlining tour crushed the east coast in '99. Diabolic was part of the Death Metal Massacre Tour 2000 with Cannibal Corpse, God Dethroned and Hate Eternal, which lasted five and a half weeks and hit every corner of the USA! Sold out venues and raging pits of Death metal maniacs prove the rising strength of Death metal in America! Diabolic was also honoured to tour with the godz, Morbid Angel, in November '99.
Conquest Music signed Diabolic in February '98, and the imminent debut "Supreme Evil" was recorded! Ten tracks of total obliteration: screaming lead guitars, howling vocals ranging from demonic lows to soul-ripping high screams of defiance, insane hyper-blast drumwork with scorching double-kicks, strong dynamic song arrangements, dark and powerful lyrical concepts, and a production that clearly captures all of the evil! "Supreme Evil" has been embraced as a "Death metal masterpiece" and once again the worldwide underground was ecstatic! The second fullength album, "Subterraneal Magnitude", was recorded in June 2000 at Greenhouse FX studios in Tampa.
Diabolic surpasses all earlier released by launching the assault to dizzying new heights! Produced by Juan "Punchy" Gonzalez, this over the top destructive force captures the essence of Diabolic, and promises to annihilate the weak!
On September 14th, 2004, the band's founding member Brian Malone decided to end their seven-year existence due to a recent "business development". He also said: "This decision in no way reflects upon the professionalism and personalities of the current members of DIABOLIC (Eric Hersemann – guitars, Gael Barthelemy – drums, Sean Baxter – bass/vocals)," Further he added: "To say that it has been a pleasure to work with these dedicated and talented musicians would be an extreme understatement. It's been an honor and my appreciation has no end. And though I know that they will succeed to their fullest potential, it is regrettable that circumstances dictate that things must end now. Any fan of metal will know to follow and support anything that they do in the future."
"The final show took place on Friday, August 20, 2004 at the Masquerade in Tampa. The decision was made prior to the performance, but not officially announced until now as to exhaust all possible options and alternatives."
