Formed by lead guitarist General K (a.k.a. Savant M) after
quitting Myrkskog in 2000, Disiplin, also consisting of Ausslavia on
vocals, Krig on rhythm guitar and Nex on drums are the latest band to join
the Moonfog ranks.
Plucked from obscurity on the strength of a demo that impressed
Satyricon frontmant, Satyr at once through sheer originality, Disiplin's story
is one of old-fashioned A&R. "When I heard their first demo, I, as a
musician, knew that there was something different about those guys,"
offers Satyr. "I could hear that the guitarist had good taste. So I started
off by offering them feedback and we went on like that - exchanging
advice and demos - for a few months until I felt they were ready to be
signed to Moonfog."
Disiplin's self-produced debut album, featuring guest appearances by
ex-Emperor members, Bard "Faust" Eithun and Samoth, is a showcase of
contagious, mid-tempo riffs intermittently layered around chilly black
metal blast beats. “I am extremely happy with their debut," Satyr proceeds.
"I enjoy their music, have a great belief in their potential and I
think they have that indistinguishable Moonfog sound.” "Our music is based
on old school black metal with inspiration from thrash and death
metal," snarls chief disciplinarian, General K. "The band's main influences
range from Darkthrone, Celtic Frost, Satyricon, Thorns, Neurosis, Venom,
Metallica, Slayer, Emperor and Aborym.

deliver The Shit!". Disiplin have enough ammunition to leave an
unforgiving yet revitalizing mark on the current metal scene.
