The Slovakian grindcore band Embolism was formed in May 1997 in the city of Kanianka. They released one demo in 1997 and also a split demo the following year with the Belgian grindcore pioneers Agathocles. In the year 2000 they released their debut album through the native label Erebos Productions and also participated in a 4-way split EP the same year together with Spain's Haemorrhage and fellow Slovakian grinders Obliterate and Suffocate. Their first live appearance took place in the town Viglas near Zvolen, on the 28th of March 1998. Now they have signed a new deal with another native label called Forensick Music.
