In october of 1994, Samhain´s month, the band puts on sale a reh/demo entitled “Under the Black Forest”which was not well spread due to the bad sound and it´s not on sale anymore. In 1995 finally the horde enters in a studio to record some tracks, so the first studio recording was done, an split cassette with one man act VARGNOGK. ERESHKIGAL´s recording is entitled “Kur-un-gi-a” that is known as the land of no return that dwells under Absu and it´s Ganzir gates.
Under the fourth fullmoon of 96 the horde records an split cassette EP through BELLPHEGOT RECS. again, but now with a japanesse act called GORUGOTH; the recording of the horde is entitled “Black Dawn...(Forever Rising Moon)”. Facing the path that the horde was looking for and a big difference from the past recording “Kur-un-gi-a”, now the odes have become much evil and destructive .
The third recording of this unholy horde was called “A Dark Tale About Wisdom and Black Powers”, this time under the underground mexican label TOAJ RECS. The production was excellent and the response from the media underground was great!!!
Now the horde has unleashed their fourth opus under TOAJ RECS, a CD debut entitled “Tragedies of Death...The Afterlife”, definitely one of the most unpure and melodic form emerged from Mexico specially for the lovers of the Black Metal Art, dedicated to the ancient acts of sacrifice and places forgotten by mortals!!! Eight supreme hymns played in a special way with incredible harmonies and amazing parts in keyboards that marks a new age of evilness in this dying world.
The name of the band was taken from the summerian mithology, Assyrio-Babilonian culture and ERESHKIGAL is knowed like the goddess of thy abyss and the queen of death, also is called the star of lamentation, mistress of the netherworld, black tirane of Kur-un.gi-a, the land of no return, dominion of black souls and demons, creatures that dwell into darkness and abysmal winds.
The inspiration is taken of our evil thoughts, an obssession with the moon, the beauty of everlasting darkness and all the evil that dwells within.
The horde has played a lot of shows to promote their black art, some of them with IMMORTAL and GORGOROTH.
Now ERESHKIGAL is ready to record the second album under TOAJ RECS again.
