EULOGY formed in June of 1989 with the single intention of destroying as a live band and writing music with the energy level, beauty, darkness and fury necessary to perform a mayhemic opera. EULOGY's founding members, Jason Avery, Jarrett Pritchard and Mike Bearden, wrote many songs but were dissatisfied with most of them, with the singular exceptions of "Enter the Crypt" and "Graveyard Shift", which was later dissected and re-worked as "Catacombs of the Terrors Beyond". Their music had a raw, hardcore style energy, but the quality was lacking, and the drums were slacking. Then, in early 1990, they recorded a drum-machine demo (having sacked the crap drummer) self titled (although sometimes a.k.a. "Night Must Fall"), which included the now classic tracks, "Suffering Within", "Consecration of Fools", and "Animystic Blasphemy".
