Band biography

Extreme used to be a famous heavy metal group that existed between 1986 and 1996. They broke out in 1991 with their biggest hit single "More Than Words" from their second album Pornograffiti (sometimes known as Extreme II: Pornograffiti). The band split up as Nuno Bettencourt went on to launch a solo career and the singer Gary Cherone joined Van Halen in 1997 as he took place for the previous singer Sammy Hagar.
