The Phoenix, Arizona, based hard rock band F5 was created in early 2003 by Megadeth bassist David Ellefson alongside relatively unknown musicians, guitarist Steve Conley and drummer David Small. Soon vocalist Dale Steele (ex-Sick Speed) and second guitarist John Davis had completed the lineup. The quintet went into a Phoenix studio together with producer Ryan Greene, a man who had previously collaborated with Ellefson on early Megadeth album demos, and recorded a five song demo in 2004 which was shopped around to interested labels. On October 4th, 2004, the band performed a label showcase gig at The Roxy in West Hollywood, California, together with Metal Skool, Sound Of Struggle and Face The Day. In late March 2005 F5 signed a deal with JVC Records for the Asian release of their debut album, the first major release under license from Ellefson Music Production.
