Stockholm based gothic metal act Faceshift was brought to life from the ashes of the Swedish death metal band Eternal Oath who decided to split up in early January 2007 since the current song writing took them in a direction that had little to do with the Eternal Oath of the past. Faceshift would take the melodic gothic influences on Eternal Oath further, leaving the death metal aspect behind. According to themselves their music "blends dark and heavy guitar harmonies and riffs with a fresh input of melodic yet powerful vocals".
The band's debut album, "Reconcile", was recorded at the Offbeat Studio and is set for a summer 2007 release via Black Lodge Records, the in-house label of leading independent Swedish distributor Sound Pollution Records, the label that was also responsible for Eternal Oath. On May 26th, 2007, they debuted live at Club Blacksmith in Södertälje alongside Hydrogen, Crazy Lixx and Sounds Like A Plan.
