The Copenhagen based hard rock band Fate was formed in 1985 by former Mercyful Fate guitarist Hank Shermann together with vocalist Jeff Lox Limbo, bassist/keyboardist Pete Steiner and drummer Bob Lance. Three weeks later they had a major label contract with EMI Records. The same year their untitled debut album was released, produced by long-time Mercyful Fate engineer Henrik Lund and guested by Michael Denner (Mercyful Fate / King Diamond). Lots of line-up changes took place over the years before finally calling it quits around 1992. Limbo went on playing Beatles-like material on the Copenhagen club scene with his brother under the monicker Major. Steincke worked as a DJ for a while and did some radio commercial work. Per Henriksen changed his last name to Johansson, spent some time in the USA, recorded with several people, among them David Paich of Toto, and finally formed a pop project called Ureas together with his wife Heidi. After having done some studio work for Blind Guardian, Jacob Moth joined a pop band called Blink which became very successful both in Denmark and South Korea.
