Flogging Molly photo
The history of Flogging Molly began in Dublin, Ireland, where Dave King grew up in a family who used to bring friends over to sing and play traditional folk songs after an evening in the local pub. Over time Dave grew tired of the folk music and moved to Los Angeles, California, in a quest for the fortune and fame of modern rock stars. He played in several bands but none turned out to be very successful. In 1997 he met a few musicians at an Irish bar called "Molly Malone's" in the city and they eventually began performing at the bar. For a band name they decided upon Flogging Molly and later that year a live album entitled "Alive Behind The Green Door". The ball was now rolling and Flogging Molly soon became known to rock fans all over the world.
