Glittertind is a "one-mans project" where Trym Ingesson is
the featuring artist. The name "Glittertind" has been adopted from the
name of one of the highest mountains in the mountain range"Jotunheimen"
in Norway. "Jotunheimen" is a beautiful, majestetic and very mystic
mountain range.
Trym is a eighteen year old(born 1985) nature lover from Norway. The
music he makes is nature romantic and national romantic. Often it has
folktunes in it. Some songs are elder folkmelodies which have been turned
into a bit more "modernized" sound. The lyrics are also often about
historical occurences, like on the album "Evige Asatro" where the
maintheme is the christianization of Norway.
Glittertind is not a band which claims that "everything was so much
nicer before". But if you want to understand the future, you've got to
understand the past. And in times of globalization the issue of knowing
your culture is maybe more important than ever.
Modern national romantic music as well as nature romantic music, have
many times been connected with racism. Glittertind is not a political
band and does NOT support this kind of opinions or behavior.
The influences to Trym is mainly folkmusic, punk, metal, rock, but of
course also old national romantic art, tales and traditions from
Scandinavia...
In May 2004 the band signed a deal with the Dutch label New Aeon Media, sublabel of Karmageddon Media.
