Band biography

The hard rock band Gotthard was formed in the Ticino canton in the south of Switzerland in the early 90s. Steve Lee and Leo Leoni had however formed another band called Krak back in August 1988 who recorded a six track demo tape with songs like "Heart Attack" and "Give Me One More Chance". Prior to Krak Steve had also played drums for another Ticino band called Trouble who had a sound like old Whitesnake.

Gotthard debuted with an eponymous effort in 1992 and became quite popular in the German speaking countries, especially their home country where it reached gold status. The band has continued touring and releasing well received albums, making them the most successful Swiss album chart act ever.
