The Dutch Death Metal band HATRED was founded in January 1999 when Metal-diehards Peter de Jonge (bass guitar) and Peter van der Schraaf (guitar) joined forces. Just a year after the spawn the band recorded a demo CD at the Harrow studio, Holland, which was very well-received.
Hatred played a lot of shows to promote their recording including a European mini-tour across Slovakia, Czech Republic, France, Spain and Holland with Dementor, Crusher and Eternity during march 2002.
The beginning of 2003 saw the release of “Chaos in the Flesh”, which was again recorded at the Harrow studio. A lot of gigs followed and Hatred returned to the Czech Republic to do some more shows. In the meanwhile Hatred continued to pulverize stages across the Netherlands as well, playing with acts such as Vader, Suffocation, Grave and Lord Belial. In 2005 Germany was visited for the first time.
By 2005 it was time to consolidate things by writing material for the first full length album. Up until then, the band was always a four-piece. That changed when one of the guitarists left and no replacement was sought, so after 7 years of fronting the band Peter decided to stop doing the main vocals and to concentrate on his bass duties (doing backing vocals only) in order to supplement the guitarsound.
During the summer of 2006 Koen Dingemans (also in Stronghold) joined Hatred as the new vocalist/frontman. Being a (slightly differently composed) four-piece again the band recorded their first full length album, "Blasphemous Deliverance", at the Exces studio in may of 2007. In november of that same year Hatred signed with Deity Down Records, who released “Blasphemous Deliverance” in january 2008.
