Horrific Demise was formed by former Lividity member Matt Bishop. Originally he intended for the band to be called Erosion of Sanity but since he discovered that there was a hardcore band with the same name he abandoned the idea. Originally Aaron Harper was going to be a part of the band but he had to step down due to a busy personal schedule. Instead Shaun LaCanne (Putrid Pile) joined in August of 2008.
