In the year of our gore, nineteen-hundred and ninety-seven, the world as we knew it changed forever. A group of young men hell-bent on the wholesale slaughter of every man, woman, and child on earth came together to disseminate their gore splattered Metal to the slavering masses. With the original line-up of Sean McGrath on guitar, Raul Varela on drums, Jared Deaver on guitar, and Ron Dorn on bass, they were nigh unstoppable but for Jared's trick knee and Ron's inability to communicate on anything more than a primitive level of grunts and clicks. This line-up produced the very not critically acclaimed demo, "Septic Vomit."

Having left Jared and Ron bleeding in a ditch after several hours of alchohol fueled beatings, the remaining members contracted Leon del Muerte and Ross Sewage to take over guitar and bass respectively, with the both of them adding their vocal "talents" to the band's already putrid sound. They unleashed the "From Here to Colostomy" demo and the metal underground was witness to the most unabashed poo tribute in the history of copromania. This material was also tapped for two CD compilations from the terrifying Razorback Records outfit as well as for a split 7" with hydro-grinders Cephalic Carnage, released by HeadFucker Records.

The fearsome foursome set about attacking many local venues and leaving the gutted bodies of innocent concert-goers jutting from hastily fashioned stakes. It was after one of these bloodlettings that the nefarious and oft reviled Necropolis Records approached the gore drenched outfit about recording an album. Impaled jumped at the opportunity to trick more people into a cruel and painful fate than was possible locally, as their former haunts had been turned into half empty abattoires where only the bravest of headbangers dared to show up.

After recording the instant classick, "The Dead Shall Dead Remain", Impaled set out across the U.S.A with Death Metal heavyweights Nile and Incantation, quickly earning a reputation not only as drunkards, but as dirty, smelly drunkards. New material was recorded for a split 7" with corporate killers Engorged, released by Discos Al Pacino, along with cover songs for Carcass and Impetigo tribute CDs. This material was later included on a CD along with their second demo and an unreleased early recording. This compilation, the album length EP "Choice Cuts," was instantly recognized as another release by Impaled. Another cross country tour with the likes of Vader, Origin, Skinless, Withered Earth, and Enter Self was undertaken and the four feckless fuckheads continued to destroy clubs and brain cells (their own) alike.

Upon returning, Leon and the band parted ways. Faster than you can say "waiting in the wings", the talents of guitar and production virtuoso Andrew LaBarre were acquired by Impaled for the position of guitar and vocals. The newly cemented line-up entered the studio in April of 2002 to record their magnum o-pus "Mondo Medicale" and the follow up EP "Medical Waste". "Mondo Medicale" was released in July 2002 to rave reviews by all but two major home and garden magazines and in the same month Impaled hit the road once again with Death Metal stalwarts Incantation as well as Poland's own lightbulb technicians Decapitated, the bearded members of Dead to Fall, and the ultra-sensitive Vehemence. Impaled currently divides their time between X-treme Thumbwrestling matches and Competitive Solitaire.
