The German progressive metal band Ivanhoe was formed in 1986. Many line-up changes followed throughout the years. In March 1996 the band toured with Nevermore and Iced Earth. A third album "Polarized" was followed by a new tour with Skyclad and Vanden Plas. In 1997 there were disputes about the ownership of the band named which resulted in the band splitting up and Andy B. Franck forming a new band called Symphorce. The other band members would pursue other projects as well. The band reformed in 2001 with a new line-up but not much seem to have come of it.
