The British heavy metal band Jaguar was formed in December of 1979. After a second demo the band secured the track "Stormchild" on the 1981 Heavy Metal Records compilation "Heavy Metal Heroes" which was followed up with the single "Back Street Woman" that wols over 4000 copies. After a dispute with their label over the re-pressing of the single they signed a new deal with Neat Records mentor Dave Wood who witnessed the band's headliner show at a Dutch rock festival. Their debut Neat single "Axe Crazy" became Neat's best selling single to date. A British tour followed, supporting bands like Stampede, The Rods and The Starfighters before entering the studio in November of 1982 to record their debut album. In 1984 the band signed a deal with Greybray Managament who also handled Motörhead and Girlschool at the time. Several line-up changes followed until the band finally folded in the end of 1985. In 1998 the band reformed and in the summer of 1999 Jaguar performed at the Wacken Open Air festival.
