As Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater) left the band Platypus, the three remaining members Ty Tabor, John Myung and Rod Morgenstein decided to work together once again on a new project called The Jelly Jam. They got themselves a record deal with Inside Out Music and released their self-titled debut album in 2002.
