Kaiserreich was formed in September 2004 in Brescia by vocalist Serpent Est, guitarist Necrobosco, drummer Krieg and bass player T. Morgon. However, the latter would part ways with the band already in February the following year. Necrobosco also left for a couple of months before returning as the band's bass player.
In April 2005 Suicide joined the band as their new guitarist although he would opt out again in May and replaced by Elfire. The band now adopted the moniker Kaiserreich, having remained nameless until now, and on October 31st they performed live for the very first time. A month later Abraxas was recruited as second guitarist.
Early 2006 saw the band recording eight tracks for their debut album, entitled KRRH. During the spring of 2007 Elfire parted ways with the band after having played several live shows on Italian ground. A temporary replacement was found in the summer when they teamed up with Pest, frontman of another black metal act called Inverno although he never performed live with the band and left after a few months.
In September 2007 Kaiserreich signed a contract with the Chinese label Funeral Moonlight Productions for the release of their debut album. During the winter and spring of 2008 the band did their first live gigs abroad as they travelled to Greece, Slovenia and Germany. In March guitarist Luce reinforced the band whose line-up was now yet again complete.
