Krokus was formed in Solothurn, Switzerland, in 1974 and started out playing symphonic rock similar to bands like Yes, Genesis and Emerson, Lake And Palmer. After four years and two albums they switched to a more hard rock oriented style in the AC/DC vein. In 1980 they released their break-through album Metal Rendez-vous which was heavier than anything they had done before and the same year they played the Reading Festival. The following two albums continued the more aggressive approach.
A number line-up changes followed and they signed a new record deal with MCA Records. They had a rough period in the late 80's but the band was still alive and have not given up yet.
