genre with elements of atmospheric Doom and Funeral. In other words,
slow progress with some fast passages and melodic lines,
grunt & clean vocals.
After some changes in the line-up, the band is established in 2001,
recording the first CD-demo entitled Sanity to Decrease. This record
wasn't officially released. The line-up then was: Ávila on Vocals/Keyboards,
Jonathan on Bass, Tiago and Anderson on guitars and Paulo on drums.
At the beginning of 2003 a new member appears, Maiko(Violoncello), to fulfil
the formation and to enrich the work of Lachrimatory.
In 2004, the band has some changes in line-up again, and it begins a search for new members.
In the same year, Leonardo(drums) and Alexandre(guitar) join the band,
corresponding to the current formation.
Death/Doom genre
Emphasizing the guitars mostly with basic "riffs", with the intention of
giving a crushing aggressiveness to the sound, the melodic satisfaction is left to other instruments, such as
the keyboards and the cello. The dramatic lyrics complement well the musical context expressed by
the instruments, creating an obscure atmosphere, and often becoming melancholic.
Line-up 2006
Lachrimatory is: Ávila, on vocals/keyboards, Tiago and Alexandre guitars/back vocals,
Maiko on Violoncello, Thiago on Bass, and Douglas on drums.
