Living Death was one of the first European thrash metal bands and formed in 1980 by the two brothers Dieter and Reiner Kelch. The band recorded a couple of demos which resulted in a deal with Axel Thubeauville's Earthshaker Records. Their debut album "Vengeance Of Hell" was released in July 1984 under license to Mausoleum Records. Later that year they went out on a short tour with Warlock. In May 1986 they signed a new deal with Aaarrg Records. Their EP "Back To The Weapons" was recorded and released with a big white sticker on it to camouflage the violent cover. In 1987 they released their new album "Protected From Reality" which sold more than 18,000 copies. Soon after the recording of their album "Worlds Neuroses" the two Kelch brothers left the band to be replaced by ex-Holy Moses guitar player Georgie and ex-Violent Force bass player Lemmy. Since they couldn't use the name Living Death any longer they changed the name into L.D. and toured together with Coroner and Angel Dust before splitting up some time in 1991.
