Band biography

Lock Up was formed in late 1998 by Napalm Death members Shane Embury and Jesse Pintado together with then Cradle Of Filth drummer Nick Barker. They met in Birmingham, Great Britain, and started talking about the good old days when bands like Dark Angel, Death, Repulsion and Slayer were pushing metal forward. So Lock Up was born. After a while they decided on Peter Tägtgren as their vocalist and they recorded their debut album at his studio Abyss in the north of Sweden. In the year 2000 Tägtgren was forced to leave the band due to his busy schedule and the former At The Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg replaced him. In late February 2001 they entered the Framework Studio in Birmingham to record their second album together with Russ Russell and the Napalm Death guitarist Mitch Harris. By the end of 2005 Lock Up had split up and drummer Nick Barker shifted focus to management activities.
