In March 1995, after having been apart since the split of Overdrive in 1985, Janne and Kjell Jacobsson felt it was time to join forces again. They found bass-player Ulf Kronsell (formerly with local metal bands Blue Town/E-Type). The rhythm-section was completed with drummer Mats Brandström from T For Trouble and a year later, 19 year old vocalist Herman Saming practically stumbled into the band.

LOCOMOTIVE BREATH was a fact. The name was taken from an old Jethro Tull song. They are by no means a Tull cover-band and don't even come close in style, but it’s a cool name and J Tull is a great band.

In December 1996 they entered Studio Underground and in only 26 hours their first five-track demo was recorded, mixed and ready. A nice and still lasting working relationship was established with engineer/producer Pelle Saether. The demo lead to a deal with German label BlueStone Records. When they were about to start the recordings of the first album it was mutually decided Kjell Jacobsson was to leave as his and our musical directions went different ways. The debut-album Train Of Events was recorded in Studio Underground, Västerås in June 1997, produced by the band in co-operation with Pelle Saether (Slapdash/Schizophrenic Circus/Zello etc). It contains 11 songs and features guest-spots from Mattias Eklundh (Freak Kitchen), Calle Grimmark (Narnia), Tommy Denander (Radioactive, Prisoner, solo), Micke "Nord" Andersson (Nord, Roxette, etc), Kjell Jacobsson (Overdrive, ex. Locomotive Breath) and Anders Altzarfeldt (Zello).

Train Of Events was also released in Japan by Avex/Bareknuckles February 25th 1998. The Japanese release features the bonus-track Captured, originally written for Overdrive in 1984 by Kjell and Janne. In June 1998 the band recorded a heavy King’s X:ish version of Silent Night for the Christmas compilation Released By X-Mas (Sin City Records). In October Mats decided to leave the band as he would concentrate on his studies. The boys immediately found Peter Svensson, whom Janne had previously played with in Overheat and who also backed him on the Guitar Heroes of Sweden compilations.

In June 1999 they again entered the outstanding Studio Underground and recorded two songs. One was a cover of Captain Beyond's I Can't Feel Nothing Part 1 and 2 for the Record Heaven Captain Beyond tribute album Thousand Days Of Yesterdays, where they are accompanied by bands like Pentagram, The Quill, Standarte, Lotus, Zello etc. The second song was Scream Of Anger, originally released on Wings Of Tomorrow by Europe. This song is found on the Powers From The North - Sweden Rocks The World compilation, where you will also find; Meshuggah, Entombed, Lost Souls, Glory, Treasure Land, In Flames, Entombed, Hammerfall, Southpaw, Gooseflesh etc. The band also did a bit of gigging, for intance at the Sweden Rock Festival and also as support to bands like John Norum Band and Freak Kitchen (with Mattias guesting even on the gigs).

Early 2000 Peter decided to leave the band due to too many other commitments. Again out of drummer. The help was however closer than expected. August 6 the band found the perfect guy for the job - 19 year old Jimmy Lexe - who is actually the son of former guitarist Kjell Jacobsson. Jimmy's style is quite reminiscent of Mats and embarrassingly enough the young dude knew the songs from the album better than the rest of the band. This has given a new energy-injection to the loco bunch.

In July 2001 the band recorded a new five-track demo. This time in the local D’Studio with engineer Johan Blomström. The demo contained Solitary Man, Reign Of Terror, Sign Of The Times, Sacred Alien and Leaving The World Behind. It finally lead to a deal with Record Heaven.

September 12, 2001 the band changed singer from Herman Saming (also in ACT) to Mattias Osbäck.

In November 2001 the new line-up entered Studio Underground and in January 2002 the new album Heavy Machinery was recorded and ready. Release is set to April 1st (no joke!). There are of course guest-appearances on the new album, too. On the instrumental The Adventures Of Zaphod Beeblebrox solos are provided by Roland Grapow (ex Helloween, Masterplan, solo), Pontus Norgren (Great King Rat, Talisman, Humanimal, solo), Mattias Eklundh and Micke "Nord" Andersson. Mattias also appears in High & Mighty, while Tommy Denander struts his stuff in Blind Lead The Blind.

In 2003 Jimmy decided to leave the band due to other engagements. After having temporarily used first drummer Mats for a few gigs, the band found a permanent replacement: Ted Wernersson. Ted is ex. Groover/Billion Dollar Babies and has played on an album by Mandrake Root. Ted's first gig with the band was at the Swedish Bikemeet in May 2003 and the second at the 2003 Sweden Rock Festival, where the band was also guested by former Samson/Mammoth-singer Nicky Moore. New material for album #3 is currently in the making.

In August 2003 "Train Of Events" was re-issued by Rivel Records. As the original artwork is no more, the album contains completely new artwork, it's entitled "Train Of New Events" and also contains five bonus-tracks, not on the original Bluestone-version.
