A conception of the band goes back to early 1993. Despite all the
trends
and cool styles at the moment founding members Rob Elliott (guitars and
vocals) and Ben Elliott (drums and bass) started jamming the music they
had
always loved and lived for. Released in 1994 "The Dark Ascension" demo
and
two years later "Canticles of Armageddon" MCD showed band's natural
progression. The year of 1997 brings a new member to Lordes Werre.
James
"Hellstorm" Garber joins on the bass. Ben Meyer of Nasty Savage flew up
from Florida to put solos on the album in 1998. Meyer's appearance
certainly put the band into the different dimension what can be heard
on
"Demon Crusades".
With all the positive aspects of life must come the bad news. Rob's
constant problems with the police and local religious groups led to his
imprisonment. First vandalizing the church and then an attempted rape
of a
young Christian girl put him away for several months.
Right before Rob's jail time Lordes Werre managed to record "Demon
Crusades" and previously a couple of months before a song (The Old
Thing
in the Ground) which appears on Necropolis compilation CD "Thrashing
Holocaust". The same CD will also cover European territory via Osmose
Productions.
As the album was already recorded, except Elliott never got to finish
the
vocals, the band had to search for the right repleacement of imprisoned
Rob Elliott. After few rehersals the band decided, that Scott Carroll
of
Chicago's Cianide was a man for the job.
Not being a full time singer he was able to deliver an uncompromising
aggression and hatred that perfectly fits the music. Although it has
been
said that "Elliott's character for the songs is no longer there". As a
result of every musician's involvment is an album that will stand a
test
of time. "Demon Crusades" is without a doubt America's best thrash
album
of the decade. "Fist clenching, neck breaking, head bursting sound,
high
power metal".
The band broke up after this album. Ben Elliott returned to Afterlife.
Rob
Elliott started Necrodemon after his release in late 1998.
