Machine Men is a Finnish heavy metal band influenced by bands such as Iron
Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne and Queensryche.
Machine Men got it's start in Autumn 1998 when Parantainen, Parviainen, Vehniäinen
and Noronen, who had been playing Iron Maiden covers together, were joined by J-V.
The first demo recording of Machine Men was made few months later. The
recording session took place in Watercastle studio in Jyväskylä at 29th of
May 1999.
During the summer 1999 Machine Men played few highly energetic gigs.
In the Fall 1999 "Through My Tomb" from the first demo recording was chosen
to Jyrki Hit Challenge semifinals as one of the 24 songs that were chosen
from the 500 songs that had been submitted to the contest.
The second demo session took place in Watercastle studios at 7th and 9th of
December 1999. This time the demo got a honorable mention "Demosedän
Merkki" in finnish music magazine Soundi.
Parviainen, Parantainen and Vehniäinen were forced to start their
compulsory military service in Finnish army in the Winter 2000. That meant
six months break for Machine Men. Machine Men spent the Summer 2000 doing
gigs and songwriting.
In the Summer 2001 Machine Men took part in Big Boom -band competition. The
success in Big Boom gave Machine Men an opportunity to have their song
"Failed Trick" published in a compilation CD. In the Autumn 2001 Machine Men
headed to studio and recorded two amazing songs: "Behind The Wall of Scene" and
"Eye of the Truth". In March 2002 this two-song CD was reviewed as
"the Demo of the Month" by Finnish music magazine Soundi.
In December 2001 Machine Men signed a record deal with Finnish label
Dynamic arts Records. Straight after the ink was dry the band went to
studio to record a mini CD. That CD contains five songs: "Men Inside the
Machine", "Eye of the Truth", "The Slave Trade", "Enjoy Insanity" and a
cover song. Listen to the samples!
The mini CD is now ready and it will be released in June 2002.
