Band biography

The American stoner rock band The Melvins was formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1984 by a group of students at the Montesano highschool. Eventually they relocated to San Francisco (in 1987) and then Hollywood, California. Bass player Lori "Lorax" Black dated Buzz for some time and was the daughter of child moviestar Shirley Temple and San Francisco businessman Charles Black.
